    HE Guowei
     


    HE Guowei is Deputy Chief Engineer of China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd (CNPEC).

    As a deputy chief engineer HE joined CGN Hua Long R&D team in 2010, and he and his group completed nuclear island process and building conceptual design.

    Previously HE was the Chief Engineer of Hong Yanhe Phase I project. In this role, he and his team completed the site adaption study and successfully apply the CPR1000 to the cold region.

    HE has over 25 years of experience in the nuclear power engineering. He started his engineering career working as a mechanical engineer, working primarily in the areas of nuclear island which cover commissioning, operation and maintenance, and procurement. As NI Mechanical Manager, Ling Ao NPP Project Engineering and Procurement, HE and his team managed the NI mechanical engineering, fabrication to support NPP construction.

    HE received a Master of Nuclear Engineering from Xi'an Jiao Tong University.

    Brief Introduction
    Mr. CHAI Guohan has more than 25 years of experience in nuclear safety review and nuclear safety research. As the Chief Engineer of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center (NSC), which is the technical support organization for National Nuclear Safety Administration of China, he is
    1. Responsible for the safety review and assessment of a series of civilian nuclear power plants in China, such as Sanmen NPP (AP1000), Taishan NPP (EPR), Fuqing NPP units 5&6 (HUALONG), Fangchenggang units 3&4 (HUALONG), Shidaowan NPP (HTR-PM), Yangjiang units 3&4 (ACPR1000), etc.
    2. Responsible for NSC’S independent audit calculation capacity building, especially the application of safety analysis software and the establishment of safety analysis software system, promoting independent audit calculation related to AP1000, CAP1400 and EPR project in China
    3. Responsible for experience feedback of nuclear power plants after Fukushima Accident, study and implement practicable improvement measures on nuclear safety.
    4. Participate in the compilation of The Safety Requirement for New Nuclear Power Plants Built during the Twelfth Five-Year Period and its revision.

     

    Martin Sattison

    Mr. Sattison is an internationally recognized expert and industry leader in risk assessment and management.  As the Director of the Nuclear Safety and Regulatory Research Division of the DOE’s Idaho National Laboratory, he leads the risk management research and engineering activities of over 45 researchers in the nuclear and other high-tech industries. 

    He serves on several international standards committees, including the ASME/ANS Joint Committee on Nuclear Risk Management.  He also serves on the technical program committees for the International Topical Meeting on Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA), the International Conference on Probabilistic Safety Assessment and Management (PSAM), the International Conference on Nuclear Energy (ICONE), the Nuclear and Emerging Technologies for Space (NETS) Conference, and several annual and winter meetings of the American Nuclear Society.  He has the distinction of being voted the first Chairman of the American Nuclear Society’s Aerospace Nuclear Science and Technology Division.  Mr. Sattison has been an invited lecturer for the International Atomic Energy Agency and the National Academy of Engineering.  In response to the Columbia Space Shuttle Accident, NASA called upon Marty to help organize the investigation efforts. 

    Prior to the joining INL, Martin worked for the risk consulting firm of Pickard, Lowe and Garrick, an industry leader in risk assessment, where he was a lead analyst for the Three Mile Island Unit 1 Probabilistic Risk Assessment. A 1977 mechanical engineering graduate from the United States Naval Academy, he served in the US nuclear submarine force. 

    Marty has written over 40 journal articles and technical papers.  He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Reliability Engineers, and the American Nuclear Society, where he is currently serving as a member of the National Program Committee and Vice-Chair of the Nuclear Installation Safety Division.
