The 23^th Pacific Basin Nuclear Conference

The Chinese Nuclear Society (CNS) is pleased to host the 23th Pacific Basin Nuclear Conference (PBNC 2022) and the technical exhibition under the auspices of the Pacific Nuclear Council. The conference will be held from October 31^st to November 4^th 2022 in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China.

The Pacific Basin Nuclear Conference (PBNC) was initiated originally as regional cooperative fora to promote peaceful uses of nuclear energy in the Pacific Basin region. The first conference was held in 1976 in Honolulu, Hawaii and it has been held about every two years. PBNC have been successfully held 21 times since 1976.

For taking solid steps toward the goals of achieving peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality for a low-carbon life, future-oriented nuclear energy should be developed in an innovative way for matching lower-carbon mechanism globally.

Chinese Nuclear Society has hold PBNC successfully for 3 times, which includes the 6th PBNC in 1987, the 13th PBNC in 2002 and the 20th PBNC in 2016. PBNC has been a vital role to provide a platform for discussion and communication relating to research and implementation of nuclear energy technology in the Pacific Basin.
